Have you ever been accused of doing something you didn’t do and then have to prove yourself? It can be a blessing in disguise.
When I was in middle school, a girl in the grade below me accused me of stealing her sweater at school one day.
I was marched into the principal’s office and sent home with a note detailing my ‘crime’ to my parents. I was stunned, so pissed off, and innocent.
This wasn’t just any sweater I had been accused of stealing. This was a sweater my mom bought in her mom’s boutique!
I knew I had done nothing wrong, and I wasn’t going to be accused of something I didn’t do and go down without a fight. I new I had proof that the sweater belonged to me.
I marched back into school the next day, evidence in hand. I had worn the sweater on our family’s cross-country road trip over the summer. I had a picture (dated on the back being the late 80s, of course) of me standing in front of the antler arches in Jackson Hole, WY months earlier.
I cleared my name and learned a valuable lesson that will stay with me for a lifetime: I need my own, unique identity that cannot be confused with anyone else’s.
I wouldn’t wear what anyone else wore. I didn’t want anyone else wearing what I wore. I created my own style and identity through the clothes and outfits I wore. By high school, I had crafted my own unique style, to the point that I was named ‘Best Dressed’ in my senior high school yearbook.
It’s no secret that the need to have my own unique identity, style, and clothes are still hugely important to me to this day. But it wasn’t until recently that I realized how much of an impact that this seemingly minor incident had on me and how it ultimately made me the brand architect I am today.
No two of my client’s brands will ever look or feel alike, nor will my client’s brands ever look or feel like anyone else’s.
I build distinct and distinctive brands that are aligned with my clients’ unique set of characteristics, qualities, values, vision, and style and that separate them from the crowd. I craft brand stories, promises, and messages that are unique, genuine, and authentic and that resonate with the patients my clients are meant and called to serve. I develop mission-driven practices that help my clients fulfill their purpose and that open the door for change for patients, communities, and even the world.
In this day and age, if you truly want to make the difference you became a health, healing, or holistic practitioner to make, it’s not enough to rest your identity on your profession or specialty. You need a distinct brand that captures your essence and portrays who you are at your core, that truly and fully represents you and your mission, that tells a beautiful story that speaks to your people, and that moves people.
You need a brand identity that is wholly and uniquely yours. You need a brand identity that you’re excited and proud to put out into the world. You need a brand that drives your mission and fulfills your purpose as a practitioner. In this way, you will become a magnet to the patients you’re meant to serve and attracting and connecting with your patients will become effortless.
Becoming a magnet for your people is so exciting! If you’re ready to become a patient magnet and easefully attract and connect with the patients you’re called to serve, please reach out to me.
With love and light,
Ashley
