From Signature Brand to StoryBrand Client: Wayland Personal Physicians

When I met Fred Goldman, MD and Jon Smith, MD in the fall of 2016, they were both staff physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a world-class teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School located in Boston, who had decided to go into practice together, on their own.

Fred and Jon wanted to start a concierge medicine practice, which would give them the ability to care for their patients the way that felt best to them. They wanted to have time with their patients, get to know them and their health, develop lasting relationships, and deliver personalized care.

Based on their purpose in medicine, their vision for their practice, and the unique set of characteristics we wanted to communicate, I helped Fred and Jon build their Wayland Personal Physicians brand from scratch, starting with their practice name. Here's their logo, developed by my logo designer extraordinaire:

Their logo is simple, clean, and professional, which is just what we wanted. Their primary font and color add to the level of trust and sophistication we were looking for, while their icon gives their brand a fresh, modern, and distinctive look. With their logo developed, I created Wayland Personal Physicians' brand suite, from their appointment cards and brochures to their bios and welcome packet. All of their pieces have a consistent and cohesive look and feel, including their stationery, like this appointment reminder card:

Of course, having an online presence was and is crucial to their success, so we built Wayland Personal Physicians a custom, responsive website aligned with their brand, pictured here:

Fred and Jon opened their practice in the spring of 2017, and have been growing their practice and membership steadily since. In the spring of 2019, we saw an opportunity to elevate Wayland Personal Physicians' brand even further, to help them continue to grow their practice.

Using the StoryBrand framework, we tweaked their messaging to speak more directly to their members and prospective members, and we redesigned their website to help them to start bringing in new members directly through it. Click here to visit waylandpersonalphysicians.com see the result.
